Tuesday Walks:
These walks take place each Tuesday morning at a variety of locations in the area. They are E to M in grade and 8-12kms in length.

Dec 10 Bald Hills - meet at Tarwin Lwr at 0900, car pool to Sue Marriots. Final walk for the year - perhaps bring some finger food to share

Grading of Walks. (These are a guide only as an individual’s grading will depend upon their fitness, stamina, & experience. The weather can also be an influence.)
Social (S): Generally not walks at all but one of a variety of social activities
Family (F): On formed tracks, generally flat terrain - up to 10km, (including children under 10)
Easy (E): Gently undulating terrain, mild short climbs, formed tracks, up to 15km
Medium (M): mostly on tracks, some ascents and descents, possibly some scrambling, 10-15km
Hard (H): Consistent walking, scrub/forest walking on/off tracks, moderate to difficult ups and downs, 15+km
Very hard (VH): Extended &/or consistent walking, scrub/forest walking on/off tracks, difficult and steep terrain. Snow. 15+km.

Paddle Program 2020

If you are intending to participate in a paddle, please let the paddle coordinator know no later than the Wednesday evening prior to a paddle. The Paddle Coordinator will confirm with participants that the paddle is proceeding the day prior to the scheduled paddle, once a final weather check has been made.
Please arrive at the paddle venue at least 30 mins prior to departure time. All paddles depart at 9:30am unless otherwise advised.

Sun Jan 12 Powlett River Easy 2-3 hour paddle departing riverbank adjacent to Powlett River Caravan Park. Paddle to the Rail Trail Bridge (can be extended slightly if participants wish) and return. Lunch back at start
Sat Jan 25 Little Snake Is (Port Welshpool) Meet on the foreshore adjacent to the Long Jetty. Circumnavigation of Little Snake Island stopping at the Jetty on Snake Island for lunch. High tide is around 1pm. Event duration 4-5 hours
Sun Feb 9 Lake Narracan (Moe) Easy exploration of the upper section of Lake Narracan and into the Latrobe River. Meeting point to be confirmed. Lunch upstream.
Sat Feb 29 Mahers Landing (between Inverloch and Tarwin Lwr) Explore Andersons Inlet - paddle to Inverloch (falling tide) and Point Smythe for lunch. Return to Mahers Landing on a rising tide (all being well)
Sun March 8 Sale - Swing Bridge and Latrobe River. Start 12:00 midday Swing Bridge Opens 3-4pm. Meet for lunch followed by a leisurely paddle down to watch the opening of the Swing Bridge. Continue up the Latrobe River before returning to our starting point.
March 20-22 Wet Water Winery Wander II
Goulbourn River/Major Creek
Camping at Major Creek Reserve (free camping, BYO everything including drinking water) we launch on Saturday at the Mitchelton Road Bridge, visiting Mitchelton Winery and Tabilk Wineries having lunch at the latter stop. Opportunity for Eco Walks at Tabilk before returning to our overnight camp on the Major Creek.
Sunday provides an opportunity for a leisurely paddle around the Major Creek Island before returning home.
Sun April 12 Tarwin Lower Easy paddle down to Andersons Inlet and return. Lunch back at boat ramp.
Sat April 25 Churchill Island/Rhyll Wetlands. - Start time 1:00pm Venue will be weather dependent. Departing Old Boys Rd, circumnavigation of Churchill Island. Alternate venue will be departing Rhyll for exploration of Wetlands. This paddle has been coordinated to coincide with a scheduled high tide around 3pm
Sun May 10 Port of Maffra - Newry or Newry - Port of Maffra and return A leisurely paddle to Newry and return along the McAllister River. There is no access for motor craft on this section of the river. The opportunity for O/N camping (Sat Night).
Sat May 30 Agnes River - Port Albert Departing boat ramp adjacent to Seabank Caravan Park to explore lower reaches of the Albert River, Port Albert. Lunch back at Port Albert? Fish & Chips?.
Sun June 14 Blue Rock Easy paddle of the lower reaches of the Old Tanjil River to picnic area and return; lunch back at start. Meet at Old Tanjil River Boat Ramp
